WHO IS SANDER SALLES...??
Hello… I’m a Photographer, and here I want to share, in a relaxed way, a little more about myself – who I am, what I do, what I enjoy, and some useful (or maybe not so useful) information so you can get to know me better. Let’s go?
I’m Brazilian, born on the coast of São Paulo and raised in the city of Ubatuba in the ’90s. Today, at 33 years old, I feel lucky to have grown up surrounded by beaches, rivers, and waterfalls. Living so close to some of the most beautiful landscapes and beaches in Brazil is truly a privilege for a few 😎
I wouldn’t call myself the most studious person in the world, but I do consider myself a real autodidact when it comes to the subjects I’m passionate about – Technology, the Internet, and of course, Photography. I’ve always been that kind of person who loves to learn things on my own, and reading instruction manuals was never my thing – a typical Brazilian habit.
In 2014, I graduated from the University of Taubaté (UNITAU) as a Multimedia Producer, with a focus on Web Development. That’s also when I had my first contact with photography, thanks to both the practical and theoretical classes included in the course.
During that time, I also had the chance to explore other fields like Advertising, Radio, and TV. From 2013 to 2016, I worked at a local Web Development agency, where I gained solid experience in the digital field, learning about Marketing, Personal Branding, and Brand Positioning. But photography always remained my true passion. I studied a lot on my own, learned new techniques from professionals on YouTube, and also joined workshops and advanced courses with established photographers.
In 2016, my life took a big turn when I moved to Japan with my wife, where we lived until 2023. Now, I’m living in Australia and trying to balance this passion and profession in the best way I can. I keep doing photoshoots whenever possible, always gaining more experience and improving my knowledge in the field.
My main goal is to one day live exclusively from Photography, travel to places that most people have never even heard of, and, of course, become a reference in the area I’ve chosen to dedicate myself to.
